Collection, 1928-1951: 3 folders (17 leaves, 1 envelope)

Hans Swarowski--pupil of Arnold Schönberg (1921-1925) and Anton Webern (1925-1927). Studied with Felix Weingartner and Richard Strauss. Director of the Grazer Opernhaus between 1948 and 1950, conductor at the Vienna State Opera, 1957-59 GMD of the Scottish National Orchestra as successor of Karl Rankl. Teacher of Zubin Mehta and Claudio Abbado. Hans Swarowski's satellite collection has been donated to the Arnold Schönberg Center by his widow Doris Swarowski in Fall 1999.
